A beautiful piece of Gibson history available now at The Guitar Store is a 1937 L-50 F-Hole Acoustic guitar. This year marked the increase of the upper bout width to 16" and the addition of the raised diamond tailpiece—features that were typically seen on higher-end jazzbox acoustics of the time. Also for this specific year the L-50 had an elevated fretboard a feature also only seen on higher end Gibson models. This guitar has survived 87 years in remarkable condition, with no cracks or breaks, and still plays wonderfully with plenty of life left.

The body and neck have maintained their integrity, showing a gorgeous vintage patina with lots of nitro finish crackling, adding to its authentic charm. The frets show some wear on the higher strings between the 1st and 4th frets, but there's still plenty of fret life left for years of playing.

There are a few light modifications from its early years, including a triangle inlay on the headstock below the Gibson logo, a small inlay at the base of the fretboard, and a small piece of metal beneath the tailpiece added to maintain the bodies structural integrity. They pickguard was removed at some point and is not included.

Included with the guitar is a stunning vintage alligator case, likely originally sold with the instrument. These cases are hard to find, especially in such great condition, making this set even more special.

Overall, this is a fantastic player's grade vintage guitar with an incredible story, offering a rare chance to own a well-preserved piece of music history.
